What's Tiger's Eye?
Tiger’s Eye is a variety of semi-precious quartz that exhibits chatoyancy (cat’s eye) effect due to the parallel bands of crocidolite (blue asbestos) fibers that have formed from deposits of iron oxides and silica in the mineral. Tiger’s Eye is transparent to translucent with a vitreous luster. Tiger’s Eye ranges from golden yellowish to dark chocolate brown in color with the richness of this mineral’s coloring really coming out with polishing.
